Hello,

I have a cisco router 2801. with ios version Version 12.3(8r)T9  c2801-ipvoice_ivs-mz.151-3.T.bin and I want to upgrade it to 15.1 for using it as cme router.because current ios not support some of command such as (crypto key).

first of I need a suggestion for best ios for using cme. and the 2nd problem which I'm facing is copying ios to router's flash via tftp. whenever I tried to copy flash from tftp server to router's flash, it gives error like %Error opening tftp://1.1.1.2/c2801-adventerprisek9-mz.151-4.M12a.bin (No such file or directory) and I also tried to reverse it as transfter ios flash from router to tftp server, in this case it gives error like %Error opening tftp://1.1.1.2/c2801-ipvoice_ivs-mz.151-3.T.bin (Permission denied)

I have tried almost all of things which I know. turn off windows firewall. runnig tftp software with administrator privilege. and also adding rule in windows firewall for tftp port 69. but nothing change.

please help me in this matter.

thank you.

Hello,

what interface is the TFTP server connected to ? Specify that interface in the commandL

2801(config)#ip tftp source-interface ?

Thank you Georg.

1.1.1.1 is routers fa 0/1 ip address.

c2801-ipvoice_ivs-mz.151-3.T.bin is the file which currently running is ios.

Hello,

which TFTP server are you using ?

I've used cisco tftp server and tftpd32.

Hello,

can you actually ping 1.1.1.2 from the router with source 1.1.1.1 ?

Router#ping 1.1.1.2 source 1.1.1.1

off course it can ping from both sides

router to tftp and tftp to router

George,
The problem is not the reachability of the TFTP server. There are two different error messages so this means that the TFTP server is configured incorrectly.
If there was a reachability issue then there would be one consistent error message and not just "No such file or directory" or "Permission denied".

hello leo and georg,

can you please help me by accessing it remotely.

I shall be very thankful to you.

Hello,

set the Security Settings of tftpd32 to 'None' ('Standard' is the default).

Or try tftpd64 (download link below):

http://tftpd32.jounin.net/tftpd32_download.html

I tried the 64 version, installing it this time, to the pc directly connected to the SW via the COM port and worked correctly

Hi George,

Exactly !!  Even i faced the same issue. After set security, standard to None it worked like a gem.

Thank you

Regards

Sonu Yadav

Change your tftp destination from C: to your Desktop or somewhere else. The access denied came from the destination folder. Enjoy!

"No such file or directory" means the file and/or directory is not found in the specified directory of the TFTP server.
"Permission denied" means read access to the file and/or directory is not enabled.

hello leo and georg,

can you please help me by accessing it remotely.

I shall be very thankful to you
