Hello,
I'm getting an alert about: StateNotNormal: Indicates that the state of the fan for this system is not in the NORMAL state.
Switch: cisco WS-C6509-E, 9 modules
Tech said that he does not see any issue with the FAN or with the room temperature.
From the command: sh environment cooling fan-tray
switch6500#sh environment cooling fan-tray
fan-tray 1:
fan-tray 1 type: WS-C6509-E-FAN
fan-tray 1 mode: restricted-power
fan-tray 1 fan-fail: OK
chassis per slot cooling capacity: 70 cfm
ambient temperature: < 55C
Looks like everything is ok, but monitoring system still getting the same alert.
Someone know what I need to check or what command displays more information about FAN status?
From command: sh environment status, I got the results:
power-supply 1:
power-supply 1 fan-fail: OK
power-supply 1 power-input: AC high
power-supply 1 power-output: high
power-supply 1 power-output-fail: failed
power-supply 2:
power-supply 2 fan-fail: OK
power-supply 2 power-input: AC high
power-supply 2 power-output: high
power-supply 2 power-output-fail: OK
But not sure if "power-supply 1 power-output-fail: failed" is related with the problem.
Thanks in advance, very appreciated.
Jef
power-supply 1 power-output-fail: failed
The "extraction fan" of the PS has stopped spinning. Power off this power supply (if you can) and use a stick or some sort to "prod" the fan. Observe the way the fan spins when you push it. Does it spin smoothly or did it take effort to spin the fan.
Thanks a lot, yes the problem was the power supply, it needs to be replaced.
Tech reset it and it didn't go up again.
