Hi guys. We have 2 Core 6500 switches sitting side by side and are ready to implement VSS. I have received 4 of the X2-10GB-SR modules and now I need to get the correct fiber patch cables. 10 feet is fine. I am very uneducated with regards to fiber, so someone help me out. I believe the connector type is SC, but I don't know if I need to get single mode or multi mode patch cables. I've looked high and low on Cisco's website but I find nothing. I tried calling them and all they do is refer me to "partners". I called a local partner, and they didn't have a clue. So I found this support forum and hope this place will be my holy grail for any Cisco related questions as it seems that customer support has become a very complicated thing now. Sorry to rant.

Hi,
The X2-10GB-SR will use multimode fibre. You will need OM3 or OM4 of multimode fibre. For OM3 you can go up to 300m and OM4 will do up to 400m. Since you have X2-10GB-SR modules at both ends of the link, you will need SC-to-SC(i.e. SC connectors at both ends) fibre cable
The following down will give you specifications for various X2 modules:
Thanks

Hi,
In addition to John's correct answer, here the cable you need. 10 feet is about 3 meters.
So, SC/SC should do it.
