Fiber Ring with SG500

Hi all,

I'm want to design a network infrastructure with a fiber ring to have a "self healing" environment. I want to maintain the network up, in a case one fiber break.  I’m considering using SMB switches (SG500-).

Attached is the concept design for reference.  Any considerations that we need to have?

Hi,

You can use any STP protocol as per your requirement. As per my experiences with SMB switches smart ports are always giving me trouble. With cisco 300 and 500 series switches I always disable smart ports as below before taking to production.

no macro auto smartport
