First Time planing a network

Hello,

i have to plan an realize a network for a school.

they have ~ 180 Ports,  1 Serverroom and 2 Rooms for Switches.

In the serverroom should be a siwtch which can route between the vlans and the server, gateway, ....

the switches should be over fiber cables connected.

My plan is to choose a 3560X 24 Ports Switch as "Core" Switch which routes between the vlans and user 5x Small Business 300 Series 48 Ports Switch for the Clients.

Do you think its a good idea? Does this combination work ?

sorry for my bad english

best regards

Andreas

For a Core, you should go with redundancy and implement a Chassis model or a stacked model.

With the stacked model and Layer3 the solution is 3750-E.

With this design you can also uplink your access switches at 10Gbps.

At the access, I recommend going with 2960s instead of SB300s.

Edison
