Hello,

I faced multicast routing problem - There is no multicast UDP stream toward host, allthought all igmp Joins/Reports/Leaves from the host are correct.

This is cisco 7609 ip mroute debug showing the situation:

369145: Nov 15 15:03:07.370 MSK: IGMP(0): Received Group record for  group 239.XXX.XX.46, mode 2 from 10.XXX.XX.184 for 0 sources

369146: Nov 15 15:03:07.370 MSK: IGMP(0): Updating EXCLUDE group timer  for 239.XXX.XX.46

369147: Nov 15 15:03:07.370 MSK: IGMP(0): MRT Add/Update Vlan176 for  (*,239.XXX.XX.46) by 0

369148: Nov 15 15:03:07.370 MSK: MRT(0): Update (*,239.XXX.XX.46), RPF   /0.0.0.0

369149: Nov 15 15:03:07.370 MSK: MRT(0): Update Vlan176/239.XXX.XX.46 in  the olist of (*, 239.XXX.XX.46), Forward state - MAC not built

369150: Nov 15 15:03:07.370 MSK: MRT(0): Update Vlan176/239.XXX.XX.46 in  the olist of (172.XX.XXX.3, 239.XX.XX.46), Forward state - MAC not built

Could be a number of things.

Are you using sparse or dense mode ?

Can you post the output of "sh ip mroute" from all the L3 devicees between the source and the receiver ?

Have you checked that the TTL of the multicast stream is high enough to account for all the L3 hops the stream has to go across ?

Jon

Hello Jon,

1. Sparse-mode configured.

2. Sh ip mroute output - router A

Hi all,

I updated router's software from c7600s72033-advipservicesk9-mz.122-33.SRC3.bin to latest IOS available

(c7600s72033-advipservicesk9-mz.122-33.SRC6.bin) and after reload the problem disappeared.

I've no idea whether it was software issue or just reload issue.
