I've got two two 3560s switchs, (WS-C3560G-48TS-S) that I'm trying to connect to each other using the GB ports over Fibre. We purchased the following GBICs, SFP 1000SX Transceiver and when we put them in the port it shows (err-disabled). Below is some information I pulled from one of the ports, but doesn't matter what port I use they all say the same thing. Any suggestions on what I might be dowing wrong here or what else I can look at to fix it.

Try issuing a "show interface status err" command. It should give you the error disable reason.

Hello Bob.
It's possible that the SFP you are using is not compatible with the 3560.
I attacted the compatibility matrix, use the show inventory to figure out what PID is the SFP you bought... that name you gave SFP 1000SX doesn't give us anything. once that you have the PID of the SFP check the compatibility matrix and make sure the you are running the minimum IOS version and that your SFP is listed in the compatibility matrix.
By the way what do you have connected in to the end of the fiber?
Did you make sure they both ends of the fiber link are compatible in mode and specs. please post those details as well.
Regards.
Wilson B.

I'll agree with Wilson. The port went into error-disable because the SFP is not a Cisco branded component.
