GigabitEthernet ports on 7609 router

Here's the configuration:

interface GigabitEthernet1/23

description test

switchport

switchport access vlan 140

switchport mode access

switchport nonegotiate

speed 1000

duplex full

no cdp enable

spanning-tree portfast

The cable is straight and in good condition. I noticed when I inserted the cable to this port, the LED lid on that specific port turn to OFF. As checked the interface status, its down / down. I tried to shut and no shut but I got the same result.

Is there any way to check the integrity of that specific port? Thanks.

did u try checking up the logs ?

if not do check up when you are trying this.

That mite provide some clue on the possible reason behind this behavior.
