guide to setup snmp on SFE2000 switch

Hi,

I have 3 of SFE2000 managed switch with 24 ports.  I remember setting up last time but after resetting it due to password issue, I couldn't find the guide to setup the SNMP.  I basically needs to setup SNMP and change the string password from 'public' to something else.  Can someone give me proper guide for this model.

Hi Charles,

Thanks for the link, that what I was using before but needed step by step as the guide only explain the feature and how to use it but doesn't tell what I need to enable and configure.  I enable SNMPv2 and then change the string password from 'public' to something else and it is pointing to my VM server.  Then I tried to configure on this 3rd party MSP to communicate the switch through the vm server.  But failed to communicate.  I did similar for the router and no issue.  So, just need some guide maybe what you or others may have done to get it communicate properly.  We use this setup so our MSP service can monitor the switch to ensure that it is up all the time and alert when it is down.
