Hi All
We are putting in some 9606 switches, we have purchased Network Advantage feature set and DNA advantage.
How does the licensing work with regards to getting it applied to the switch?
Do they come shipped with the feature set licence already in?
Do we have to add a file or code to them?
the output of what we get is below.
Many thanks in advance

here is smartlicense guide : ( the switch required to reach to cisco smart license server using port 443) or you can use proxy if you have if this is not directly connected to interenet)

@carl_townshend, what firmware is the chassis running on?
Cisco is about to "re-organize" Smart Licensing starting with 17.3.2 (and later).

it's all in the smart-licensing guide refered to by @balaji.bandi , but in short:
the feature set is NOT already licensed, but the functionality is not blocked by having no license.
you have 90-days to configure the licensing properly, reaching the end of this period frequent "non-compliant" messages will appear in the logs. these messages will appear with decreasing intervals, but the switch will remain operational.
- yes, one of the options is generating license file from your smart-account end copy them to the switch "off-line"
- let the switch "call home" directly to cisco smart-license server
- use a local licensing proxy between your network and Cisco.
NB! DNA advantage entitles you to manage the switch using DNA. Without DNA server this license is a just a right-to-use for the future.
