Hi All,

Few days ago I was facing High CPU on my 3945 router. and when I checked the router log, i found the interface tunnel log as below :

Jun 26 17:55:58.775: %LINEPROTO-5-UPDOWN: Line protocol on Interface Tunnel0, changed state to  up Jun 26 18:11:43.860: %LINEPROTO-5-UPDOWN: Line protocol on Interface Tunnel0, changed state to  up Jun 26 18:27:28.904: %LINEPROTO-5-UPDOWN: Line protocol on Interface Tunnel0, changed state to  up Jun 26 18:43:13.964: %LINEPROTO-5-UPDOWN: Line protocol on Interface Tunnel0, changed state to  up Jun 26 18:58:59.029: %LINEPROTO-5-UPDOWN: Line protocol on Interface Tunnel0, changed state to  up Jun 26 19:10:26.785: %SYS-5-CONFIG_I: Configured from console by tan_h on vty0 (159.163.148.163)
Jun 26 19:14:44.102: %LINEPROTO-5-UPDOWN: Line protocol on Interface Tunnel0, changed state to  up Jun 26 19:30:29.148: %LINEPROTO-5-UPDOWN: Line protocol on Interface Tunnel0, changed state to  up Jun 26 19:46:14.237: %LINEPROTO-5-UPDOWN: Line protocol on Interface Tunnel0, changed state to  up Jun 26 20:01:59.298: %LINEPROTO-5-UPDOWN: Line protocol on Interface Tunnel0, changed state to  up Jun 26 20:17:44.353: %LINEPROTO-5-UPDOWN: Line protocol on Interface Tunnel0, changed state to  up Jun 26 20:33:29.436: %LINEPROTO-5-UPDOWN: Line protocol on Interface Tunnel0, changed state to  Up

There is no interface tunnel configured in this router but why the interface tunnel log came to this router?

Thanks for your help.

Helmi

Hi,

These log messages do not necessarily mean high CPU.

Can you post

sh process cpu sort

and

sh ip int brief

Do you have Multicast routing or WCCP configured on this router?
