How do I capture at the ASIC level on Nexus 5596 (Elam). Version 5.0(3). Thanks

What do you mean by "capture at the ASIC level"?

With the 7k, you can attach to the module and run elam. Example:

attach module 7

elam asic clipper instance 0

layer3

trigger dbus ipv4 if source-ipv4-address 172.23.1.1 2.2.2.2

start

status

We had to use this to troubleshoot certain packets not being received on the rp but we wanted to verify if the server sent the packet and we verified that the switch received the packet but was punted to routing-eng

Does anyone know of a way? I'm sure their has to be a way but maybe not?
