How to check the 1 Gig bandwidth on Cisco C2960CG?

At a location, the ISP has activated 1 Gig bandwidth of internet, and the connection from the ISP is terminated with fiber connection at a Cisco C2960CG. So, on this Cisco switch C2960CG, how would I check if I am receiving 1 Gig of bandwidth? Any commands on the switch to check this?

Hello,

the easiest way to check if you actually get the 1Gig is to hook up a PC to the switch, on just one port, and then go to a site such as speedtest.net to check what the up and download is...

Also, you could hook up a PC to the switch, download a large file, and then check the rxbs and txbs rate with the command 'show interfaces summary'...

Just ask the provider to run a test on the circuit. They usually run a test between on the last 2 devices on the circuit and give you the test results. That is part of their service contract to meet the SLAs. Just remember the size of the circuit is not based on you downloading a file from Cisco or any other site and measure it as that is not guaranteed to give you a true gig.. They only measure between their device and your device.
