How to check the Line number of port of Switches and Router

I want to check the line number of switches and routers configured in my network  or how I'll check line number for any new router /switches going to configure in the existing network.

Do we have any general formula to calculate the line number for Cisco Switches and router ?

The command "show lines" is used to check line numbers.

You can assume line numbers to be the same for devices of identical model.
