how to make Catalyst 4500 as FTP server

Good Afternoon Ladies and Gents,

Is there anyway to make catalyst 4500 as FTP server?

I need to copy file between two 4500. So I want to make one as FTP server and other as client.

Any idea? or thought?

Thanks

Hi,I don't know of any FTP

Hi,

I don't know of any FTP servers on these switches. But here's the procedure for the TFTP server:

- on 4500#1: activate the TFTP server and make it point to the IOS image. In your case, it could be "bootflash:", but I'm not sure of it

- on 4500#2, do a "copy tftp flash" and fill in the requested information

Here's a link that may help:

http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/routers/2500-series-routers/15092-copyimage.html

By the way, make sure that both 4500 have connectivity to each other.

You can FTP a file to a

You can FTP a file to a Catalyst switch but NOT the other way around.

You can, however, enable TFTP to/from your switch.

All you need is do this:

config t
tftp flash:filename.extension
end
