Dear All,

Let me explain the scenario which i have in my network.  There is firewall outside interface and two routers LAN are connected to unmanagable Switch and there is a network X.X.X.X configure between these three devices.I have configured HSRP on both Routers. HSRP priority, timers, track and virtual IPs are configured. When i remove the WAN cable from pri router traffic automatically shifted to sec and reinsert the cable result previous router is pri. My querry is some time due to flaffing in internet link the traffic supposed to shit into sec but traffic is not shifting automatically rather than when i login into pri and fires sh standby command it shows status active but traffic will not flow. at this time to make it active i must have to remove WAN cable need to reinsert or changing priority to make sec active vice-versa.

Kindly help on this its very urgent.

Thanks

MF

Can anyone help me out on this.

Can you post your HSRP config.

Also could you clarify exactly what is happening ie. in your initial description does flaffing = flapping and what is **** out ?

Jon

**** = shif. That is word mistake.

R1

interface GigabitEthernet0/0
ip address
no ip redirects
no ip unreachables
no ip proxy-arp
ip nat inside
ip virtual-reassembly
no ip route-cache cef
no ip route-cache
no ip mroute-cache
duplex full
speed 100
standby 1 ip .1
standby 1 timers 3 5
standby 1 preempt
standby 1 track GigabitEthernet0/1 30

R2

interface GigabitEthernet0/0
ip address
no ip redirects
no ip unreachables
no ip proxy-arp
ip nat inside
ip virtual-reassembly
no ip route-cache cef
no ip route-cache
no ip mroute-cache
duplex full
speed 100
media-type rj45
standby 1 ip .1
standby 1 timers 3 5
standby 1 priority 90
standby 1 preempt
standby 1 track GigabitEthernet0/1 30

Suddenly traffic flowing through Primary is block but when fire show standby command it show status Active but traffic not flow though it as well not shift to secondary also.

Hi Farook,

Is your setup for Primary/Secondary purpose ? or for loadbalancing with redundancy ?

For what purpose you are tracking "standby 1 track GigabitEthernet0/1 30" Gi0/1 on R2 ? Does it has any specific reason ?

Kindly check and let us know.

Thanks,

ThiyaguVG.
