Hi all,
just a short question regarding HSRP with secondary IP´s.
We have two WS-C4507R+E with HSRP configured between them. In the same standby group we have multiple secondary IP´s which works fine. But when I do a "sh standby brief" I only see the state of the primary IP and not of the secondary´s!?
Interface Grp Pri P State Active Standby Virtual IP
Vl1 2 110 P Active local 53.120.x.x 53.120.x.x
Even though there are multiple secondary IP´s in group 2 you only see the primary.
Is that normal? The other VIP seem to work fine.
Thanks for any ideas!
BR

Hi Florian,
Try
show standby vlan 1 all
That hopefully will give the all the information re primary & secondary IP addresses.

Hi Alex,
thanks a lot for your quick reply.
Just tried the command you told me and its getting me closer to where I wanna be but Iam not there yet.
Cause if I use the command "show standby vlan 1 all", its more like a summary, the same as if I just use "sh standby". I would prefer a brief overview as with "sh standby brief". I tried "sh standby vlan 1 all brief" as well but the output stays the same:
Interface Grp Pri P State Active Standby Virtual IP
Vl1 2 110 P Active local 53.120.x.x 53.120.x.x
I prefer this output as its better for troubleshooting purposes I think.
But maybe this only works with one IP per group!?
But Iam also wondering how the ouput of the command "sh standby vlan1 all" would look like if it wouldn't be only one active router but e.g.2. Because now it says "active router is local". But what if this router would be active for 53.120.x.x and the other router would be active for the secondary IP.
Would it show that under "sh standby vlan1 all"?
Thanks
Florian
