HWIC-1CE1T1-PRI

Dear brothers,

I have cisco2811 and HWIC-1CE1T1-PRI in the main office are using to connect 10 branches ( 10 ISDN lines) for Data.

I have available channels in the used E1 so I can use them for voice using PVDM2-64 ?

Thanks in advance for your support.

No. Digital voice on the HWIC-1CE1T1-PRI is supported only on ISR G2, and anway, does not allow support to data and voice in the same interface.

If you want to add voice capability on that router, yuo will need a two port VWIC or VWI2 card, connect one port to telco, the other to HWIC using a crossed cable, then configure dial-peer pots to send data calls to the latter.

Hi Muneer,

The problem here is that the HWIC-1CE1T1-PRI does not support Voice PRI's. You will want to use a VWIC.

Hope this helps!

Thanks Mr. Paolo,

I can;t open your link.

We paid the  E1 link ( 30 Channel ) monthly charge for whole channels so if I used 12 channel or 30 channel, I should pay the same amount.

If I use VWIC port, that means I need a new E1 link while my idea to use the avaliable channels in the used E1 link. Do you have other solution to use the same E1 link for data and voice?

Regards.
