HWIC-1GE-SFP in 2821 trouble with subinterfaces

Has any problems been reported creating subinterfaces using HWCI-1GE-SFP on 2821 running IOS 12.4.24T4?  No problems performing confiugration but cannot ping the remote interface with subinterfaces and DOT1Q TAG?

You need to have return routes at the remote end for those Networks configured on the Sub-interfaces
