I see the link for recovering a password. Can I run a show run on that 2960 from a different 2960-s, or my asa? The switch is running in a production environment and I don't really want to take it down.

Is it running with local username and password or it is configured with AAA?
If you're running AAA the password recovery will not solve your problem, you should log to AAA and reset your passwords, if the username is local, it does not guarantee it will be the same user/pwd in both equipments.

No aaa.

Then unfortunately you'll need password recovery, there's no other method that will fix this for certain.
Recovery is pretty straightforward and quick though.

Hello Eric,
You need to know username/password to login from another device.
Try to connect via console, maybe for console access is not authentication required, it depends on tour configuration.
Best Regards

Do you have your configs backed up somewhere hopefully. If so then just use one of the available password crackers that are around. If not then you should be backing things up. If you have another 2960 then do a show run and you will have to run the encrypted password thru a cracker and hope they made the passwords all the same.
