Impact on dual homed FEX when I reboot one of the 5K

We have Fex dual homed on 2 x Nexux 5K. One of our 5K has developed a fault where we cannot save the config. TAC have a recommeded a reboot of the faulty device. I am trying to udnerstand how to just reboot the 5K without reloading the FEX as well. I have read that if I issue the reload command this will cause the the FEX to reload. This is not what we want to happen. As the FEX are dual homed we want them to conitinue operating whilst we reboot the faulty 5K.

Does anyone have a suggested procedure?

Regards

Stu

Hi,

If the FEXs are dual homed and configured correctly, than rebooting one of the parent switch should not reload the FEXs and  they should point to the other parent switch.

Technically there is no impact if the FEX is dual homed.
