In 6509E series switch can we insert a SFP module in either slot 5 or 6?

I want to use a SFP module in one of the slot # 5 or # 6 instead of the supervisor engine. Is it possible?

If you are using a sup720 then you have to use slot 5 for the supervisor, you have no choice.

Slot 6 can be used for a redundant supervisor but if you don't have one then yes you can use it for your SFP module.
