Information request regarding CISCO 876-SEC-K9 V03
I have a Cisco 876 series modem/router, and am considering replacing a Linksys AM200, as it cannot seem to sustain above a 1.1Mbps upstream speed due to dropouts (the margin is only 3db for 2.5Mbps)
1. This router refers to ISDN, is there any difference between the line it expects and a consumer phone line (56kbps), ie, will it work?
2. There seems to be no Annex M support for anything but the 878, but this lists V03 does the Cisco876-SEC-K9-V03 support Annex M capable firmware?
3. Will this resolve the noise margin problems due to it being a business grade router (used as a modem only in this case), or is the upstream noise figure something that needs resolving at the cabinet/exchange, with it being upstream I thought maybe it was the transmit power of the modem.
The AM200 seems to struggle with even moderate traffic unless logging and security is left to the connected router.
In the last year, we’ve seen substantial changes in how enterprises conduct business. When the pandemic hit, it exposed gaps in business continuity plans, and it showcased the need to quickly deploy and remotely manage secure connections.
