Intel(R) Ethernet Converged Network Adapter X710 and C3850-NM-10G

I have 2 cisco WS-C3850-48P switches they're stacked and C3850-NM-10G with 10G SFP installed. I also have server Dell R340 which is Intel(R) Ethernet Converged Network Adapter X710 with 10G SFP installed. When I used fiber cable to connect 10G port on the switch to 10G port on the server, there was nothing happened and no LED light. Interface status was not connect.

The configuration on interface Te1/1/1-4:

switchport mode access
switchport access VLAN xx1

And he configuration on interface Te2/1/1-4:

switchport mode access
switchport access VLAN xx2

I configured 2 switches to a different VLAN because I'm planning to do a MPIO on server. I don't know why they were not up or should I config something on switch? please help me how to settle this.

I'm actually pretty newbie on this thing. Thanks

@jimairwalk007 is these are new equipment?

1. user #No shut command in port settings

2. check laser light is visible in each SFP in switch and server side

3. check using different fiber cable. and check the light path is correct and cable is Multi mode.

4. try connecting fiber cable between switch's SFPs. (loop) and check if lights are coming up.

5.  check if SFP detected in switch using #sh inventory command.

6. check if you see SFP detection in console output when you unplug and replug switch SFP

7. check server detected SFP X710 SF correctly

is these are new equipment? C3850-NM-10G is used module but the rest is new

1. user #No shut command in port settings - Done that, still the same

2. check laser light is visible in each SFP in switch and server side - No light in both side

3. check using different fiber cable. and check the light path is correct and cable is Multi mode. - Sorry, I'm newbie what is the light path? I've tried to use different cable but did not work. The cable that I used was LC/UPC to LC/UPC SM 9/125 DUPLEX PATCH CORD.

4. try connecting fiber cable between switch's SFPs. (loop) and check if lights are coming up. - I've tried connecting fiber cable between that 2 mentioned switches and lights are up.

5.  check if SFP detected in switch using #sh inventory command.

Here is what I got from said command:

6. check if you see SFP detection in console output when you unplug and replug switch SFP - Where is the console output?

7. check server detected SFP X710 SF correctly - There are 2 ports detected on Network Connections but the status says Network cable unplugged

IMPORTANT:  Peering into the optics without using the proper safety equipment is not good.

Do you mean if I cannot my server with switch using fiber cable is safety? May I know why? And can you give me a solution?

Peering into an active optic port without wearing a laser safety glass can cause permanent and irreversable blindness.

@jimairwalk007

according to details, your switch SFPs are LR and single mode. what is the server side SFP part code? that also need to be single mode support SFP to connection work properly. also what is the distance between server and switch? why you have LR SFPs?
