Hi Team,
i changed one of the interface speed to 1000Mbps,immediately the interface turned off.
i made sure its capable of 10/100/1000Mbps.
now set to auto,int is up with speed 100Mbps.
whats the logic i am missing ?

Yes.
1. If you hard-code the ports to 1 Gbps and you've got faulty cable and/or the NIC cards don't support 1 Gbps;
2. If the wrong command is used, the interface will flap;
3. If the wrong command is used, the ports will have speed and duplex mismatch error.

Ok, 2960S supports TDR.

Also,if i set all the ports to 1000Mbps,will it impact the network ? or the resources of switch ?any impact other than providing the speed.
