Hello everybody,
I have a issue regarding my Cisco Catalyst Blade Switch 3020 for HP, it is connected to C6500 via uplink port.
the interface is up up but any traffic in it.
I use version: 12.2.46 (cbs30x0-ipbasek9-mz.122-46.SE.bin).
Here is the output:
GigabitEthernet0/17 is up, line protocol is up (connected)
Hardware is Gigabit Ethernet, address is ec30.911b.b291 (bia ec30.911b.b291)
Description: swi 1
MTU 1500 bytes, BW 1000000 Kbit, DLY 10 usec,
reliability 255/255, txload 1/255, rxload 1/255
Encapsulation ARPA, loopback not set
Keepalive not set
Full-duplex, 1000Mb/s, link type is auto, media type is 1000BaseSX SFP
input flow-control is off, output flow-control is unsupported
ARP type: ARPA, ARP Timeout 04:00:00
Last input never, output 00:00:00, output hang never
Last clearing of "show interface" counters never
Input queue: 0/75/0/0 (size/max/drops/flushes); Total output drops: 0
Queueing strategy: fifo
Output queue: 0/40 (size/max)
5 minute input rate 0 bits/sec, 0 packets/sec
5 minute output rate 22000 bits/sec, 38 packets/sec
0 packets input, 0 bytes, 0 no buffer
Received 0 broadcasts (0 multicasts)
0 runts, 0 giants, 0 throttles
0 input errors, 0 CRC, 0 frame, 0 overrun, 0 ignored
0 watchdog, 0 multicast, 0 pause input
0 input packets with dribble condition detected
48379 packets output, 3487508 bytes, 0 underruns
0 output errors, 0 collisions, 1 interface resets
0 babbles, 0 late collision, 0 deferred
0 lost carrier, 0 no carrier, 0 PAUSE output
0 output buffer failures, 0 output buffers swapped out
show interfaces status does not have any err disble:
"
Gi0/17 swi 1 connected trunk a-full a-1000 1000BaseSX SFP"
Any help would be appreciated.

For some reason no input traffic has been seen as I check the other counters
GigabitEthernet0/17 is up, line protocol is up (connected)
Hardware is Gigabit Ethernet, address is ec30.911b.b291 (bia ec30.911b.b291)

0 output buffer failures, 0 output buffers swapped out
If STP is properly configured you would see BPDU packets packets in both directions
What is the output of show spanning-tree interface0/17? and the same at the other side of the link (HP?)
If it's in forwarding state, you can initiate a ping, but you've to be sure this link is in forwarding state

Hi Alioune,
The last time I saw an interface "behave" this way it was connected to a redundant port of a server running on NIC Teaming.
