Hi,

I have a Switch Core 4500x with a cat4500e-universalk9.SPA.03.05.03.E.152-1.E3.bin and I need to update for cat4500e-universalk9.SPA.03.06.06.E.152-2.E6.bin so I would like to know If this version there are the same features compatible with the old version ?

I am asking because in the last month I did the update for  this version cat4500e-universal.SPA.03.06.06.E.152-2.E6.bin and this version has erased some commands like SSH and other, then I did rollback for old version cat4500e-universalk9.SPA.03.05.03.E.152-1.E3.bin.

Now I would like to upgrade to this version cat4500e-universalk9.SPA.03.06.06.E.152-2.E6.bin

Someone already updated this IOS version ?

This Switch working with VSS, Radios and Cisco ISE.

Read the Release Notes.

If there are commands that are "deprecated" the Release Notes will mention them and recommend alternative commands.

Is it possible that you use the non-K9 image when you attempted the upgrade?  Be sure to download the crypto image.

Hi,

Thanks everyone.

I did the update for this version cat4500e-universalk9.SPA.03.06.06.E.152-2.E6.bin last month (jun 2017) and it´s working fine.

This version didn´t erase  commands.

Hi,

Cisco's recommendation is 03.06.05 and 03.06.06.is

After the upgrade if SSH work fine but if is not working, make sure you have access to console to redo the ssh crypto key.  This is a common issue with some Cisco platforms.

I had to regenerate the crypto key on a 3850 after upgrading to "cat3k_caa-universalk9.SPA.03.06.06.E.152-2.E6.bin". This was unexpected. Is this a feature or a special surprise gift from Cisco?

Hi,

Yes, I have seen this happen on ASRs as well.  It is scary when you con't connect to the device after the upgrade is completed and come to find out that you have to redo the ssh key.   I would call it a"surprise gift from Cisco".  Cisco is pretty good at this :-)
