IP Addressing Tool - Subnet Calculator for a range

Hi there,

perhaps this is the wrong section, but I'm searching for a software.

I need somethiong like an IP Subnet Calculator...

I have an 'unorganized' range of IP adresses e.g. 192.168.1.111 till 192.168.1.159.

Now I wanted to convert this range in subnets and host adresses to cover the range. In this example:

192.168.1.111 /32

192.168.1.112 /28

192.168.1.128 /27

Does anybody know a tool that automatically outputs the subnet/host addresses?

Thanks in advance

Bjoern

Bjoern,

There are a few tools that you can use. The first being the Cisco Subnet Calculator. You can find it at:

http://www.cisco.com/cgi-bin/Support/IpSubnet/home.pl

The second utility you might look at is the Boson Subnet Calculator. The download site is located at:

http://www.boson.com/promo/utilities.htm

A third one that you might look at is the Solarwinds Subnet Calculator. You can find it at:

http://www.solarwinds.net/Download-Tools.htm

I am sure that there are many more out there, but these should help out.

Steve

Thanks for the hints. I know the standard subnets tools well.

But I need a tool that gives me the subnets when I enter only the range: 192.168.1.111 - 159

A great site with tools for subnetting is http://www.subnetonline.com. This site has a list of several different subnet calculators, each with different characteristics. Maybe you can find the one you need here!

Regards,

Michaël

Thank you for the link.

http://www.subnetonline.com/subcalc/subnet6.html is not exactly what I mean. I want to enter any network range and the tool outputs the correct subnets (e.g. for routing entries)

Thanks for all the replies...

The problem is solved now. A teammate has written a tool in Pearl that suffice my request.

Go to wildpackets.com under support and get the network calculator . It is the easiest and best one I have ever used , even does inverse masking for figuring out functions that use the inverse mask .

Hi,

may be, it's too late, however I'll reply to you,

The best one is the one from solarwind, and it's free.
