IP Based ACL on switch

Hey everyone,

I need some desperate help setting up IP based ACLs for voip phones on my Cisco switch.

I do not have auto-qos on this one, so just need some help setting up the ACLs.

There must be someone out there that's used this window before?

Any hints?  Pointers?

Thanks

-Tim

Why don't you just write your ACL's by hand?

It is a lot easier than you think.

What are you trying to allow or block?

Hi,

I suppose this is for Qos purposes. What do you want to achieve and what platform is this?

Hi Ven and Cadet,

This is the point, I don't actually know how to do anything ACL on these Switches.

Basically trying to allow all the traffic, as we are using softphones, but giving higher pritority and bandwidth to all VOIP traffic.  We are using X-Lite, and can set a DSCP number to it.

Just don't know the rest really (which is quite a lot :S)

@Cadet: Platform?  Windows based PCs/Laptops, Cisco (SGE2010p) Switches.

Thanks,

-Tim

Hi,

Tim this window looks like the ones small business cisco switches (Linksys) SGE2000 or similar. You should ask in the Small Business Support community.

Best regards,

Alex

Hi Alex,

It is, and I have posted the same question, but have had no reply as yet.

Do you have any ideas?  See my other reply.

Thanks,

-Tim

Hi Tim,

You have Quality of Service settings on this switch. There you can define if it will trust CoS and then define the 4 queues (wrr % of the bandwidth) and put your preferred traffic (CoS to queue) in the queue with more bandwidth respectively.

Best regards,

Alex
