ip host entry auto updating?

Greetings,

I have a Cisco 881 integrated router / WAP in my SMB.

We have set it up as a dns forwarder as a backup in case our windows dns cache fails for some reason.

Currently we installed a server on site that hosts a web app wich we access both internally and from the internet via a subdomain. Lets call it webapp.mydomain.com so I added a host entry to the router to point to the local IP for internal use.

The problem is that somehow the host record is auto updating itself to either add the external ip or remove the host entry entirely.

Any ideas on how to keep this working?

Here is some of the config:

172.16.1.9 is our windows server dns cache (which as zones with A records setup for the webapp.mydomain.com domain as well)

8.8.8.8 is google dns

ios version is 12.4

ip domain name domain.mydomain.com

ip host webapp.mydomain.com 172.16.1.8

ip name-server 172.16.1.9

ip name-server 8.8.8.8

Randomly becomes this:

ip domain name domain.mydomain.com

ip host webapp.mydomain.com 172.16.1.8 72.1.1.1

ip name-server 172.16.1.9

ip name-server 8.8.8.8

Or, the host line disappears completely.

I'm wondering if it has someting to do with SOA?

Also, should the "ip name-server" entries be on seperate lines or the IPs listed one after another on the same line? Does the last line take precidence so google dns is updating the host?

Any help guiding me in a direction to solve this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!

-Nathaniel

P.S. - I'm not sure if this should have gone under LAN and routing or WAN... Sorry if it is mis-filed
