ip route add not showing up

Hello,

we have a cisco 3750-48 port switch.

We have a few SVI's configured and some static routes configured.

I had created a new interface vlan and gave it an IP. I can ping the gateway.

Now I want to add a static route to go out that interface.

when I add:

ip route 10.x.x.x 255.255.255.0 10.52.10.1

it eccepts it (no errors) But, it does not show in the routing table nor in the config?

Any suggestions would be helpful as to how to add the static route to go out that vlan interface.

Hi,

I think your query is that what will be the impact of enabling ip routing command.

Enabling IP routing command has no impact. IP routing command is to enable routing on the device (switch), as by default on switches we dont have IP routing enabled so to enable that we use IP routing and after applying this command only we can activate static or dynamic routing.
