Is it possible to know FEX UPLINK port via CLI?

Hi,

Is it possible to see the FEX uplink port via the CLI? (No physical access to the device, For documentation purposes).

For example, we have an Nexus 5 or 7K configured to support the N2k.
How can we know the physical port which is connected to the N2k?
 N5/7K (Ethx/x)-------(???)N2K

You can see the fabric port on the parent switch using the following commands:

show interface fex-fabric
show fex [fex#] [detail]

Do we have any commands to show the physical uplink port connected in N2k?

Any kind of help would be appreciated.

Hi
Show fex 101 detail should show it as an example ,at the bottom usually its the assigned ports for the uplink

Hi Mark,

Thank you for responding.
I tried that before or am I missing something?
Show fex [FEX NUMBER] details shows only the control port plus the vPC of the parent switch and the FEX's interfaces.
What we are looking is the uplink port of the 2k.

Here is an example of the said command:
NEXUS-5K-SWITCH# show fex 101 detail

Note that FEX_ports do not support switch-connections , only host-mode ports.

Hi Mark,

Looks like that's the command we are looking for but one more question cam up.

On the N2k-2348TQ there are only 6ports for the uplink:
https://www.cisco.com/c/dam/assets/prod/switches/nexus-2000-series/nexus-2348tq-10ge-fabric-extender-3d-model.html

However, the command output looks like this:

###############################################################
ParentSwitch01# show interface fex-fabric
Fabric Fabric Fex FEX Fex
Fex Port Port State Uplink Model Serial
---------------------------------------------------------------
101 Eth1/1 Active 21 N2K-C2348TQ-10GE FOC2037Q1N2
###############################################################
ParentSwitch02# show interface fex-fabric
Fabric Fabric Fex FEX Fex
Fex Port Port State Uplink Model Serial
---------------------------------------------------------------
101 Eth1/1 Active 17 N2K-C2348TQ-10GE FOC2037Q1N2

How do you interpret the FEX UPLINK ports?
ParentSwitch01: FEX UPLINK: 21
ParentSwitch02: FEX UPLINK: 17

Hi
it should show something like this from 1 of my 5ks , the uplink should be a 1 -6 port or are you actually using 21 as an uplink ?

sh interface fex-fabric

102 Eth3/4 Active 4 N2K-C2248TP-1GE SSI162204J2

Apparently, no one knows the actual physical layout.
We are trying to document the network from scratch.

Is it possible for this specific switch to exceed the allotted number of uplink ports?
N5K-C5624Q

I also tried to check if this might be a bug but it does not look like it.
Cisco Nexus 6000/5600 Series Switches 7.1(4)N1(1)

Is there any other way to check this?
