Dear friends,
On OSPF E2 routes, is OSPF cost along the links added to the path?
Thanks a lot

Hello Gautam,
NO.. E2 is the default type when redistributing routes to ospf where cost of these routes reflects only the cost of the path from the ASBR to the final destination.
For E1 cost if cumulative of all the links in a path for that you need to mention it during redistribution as "redistribute rip subnets metric-type 1
"

Dear Mahesh,
Thanks a lot.
But can you suggest to me a link or some reference to configure in such a way that one link is more preferred over the other in reaching a destination whose route has been advertised as a E2 route.
I need to acheive this without changing any configuration on the ASBR.
Thanks a lot
Gautam

HI Gautam,
I don't think you can change type of route just by putting some route-map. Every route is propogated with their dedicated LSA type and
you can not change it. what you can do is you can change metric of route but you can not change E2 route to E1 route or Inter-area route to intra-area route.
Atleast I am not aware if someone has did this.

mahesh
