Is redundant link compulsory for SVL in StackWise Virtual configuration

I want to pair 2 C9500-16X switches using SWV technology. However I don't want to use multiple links for SVL. This will save me two ports. Since almost all interfaces for the downlinks are having dual leg connection, I don't see the issue of keeping two link for SVL connection.
My question is that, is there a minimum requirement of having 2 links compulsory or can I keep single interface link for SVL?

Regards,

Switching, Catalyst 9000

2 is for redundancy, but it will work with one if you don't need redundancy. That said, I would build the Portchannel and just add one link to it, and in the feature, if you want redundancy, you simply add a second one.

In SWV, you don't make Port-Channels. Just require to add another port.

Ok, that is even simpler.

suggested 2 links if you do want to happen split brian,

instead, why not build standalone mode - is this work for you?
