Can anyone give me a definitive answer as to how I enable Jumbo frame support on a 4500x system?
Ive enabled it on the VLAN interface and the physical interfaces dont have the command available in config mode.
Thanks in advance.

The "mtu" command should be available in the config mode for the physical interfaces, allowing values up to 9198 (I do have it, on a WS-C4500X-16 running IOS XE 03.04.04.SG)...

(cat4500e-UNIVERSALK9-M), Version 03.04.02.SG
I dont have the 9198 value only standard MTU values.

Strange... it's even given as an example here: http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/switches/lan/catalyst4500/15-1-2/XE_340/configuration/guide/config/sw_int.html#pgfId-1068699
What does the following attempt look like on your switch?
sw1#conf t
Enter configuration commands, one per line. End with CNTL/Z.
sw1(config)#inte
sw1(config)#interface te1/1
sw1(config-if)#mt
sw1(config-if)#mtu ?
<1500-9198> MTU size in bytes

bad choice of interfaces on my behalf! Its not on the interfaces I looked on as these are the ones in the VSS bundle.
Looked elsewhere and the command is there.
Need to change and test again.
