We have a pair of Nexus 7700s in in production, and I would like to learn more about Nexus (ie vPC, VDCs ect...). I wanted to create a lab VDC, but I want to make sure I don't mess up production. From my understanding, if I create a VDC and associate the ports to that VDC it will be completely separate. But are there any caveats I should be aware of? I know if you physically connect a cable between 2 VDCs it would communicate, but other than that its like a completely separate switch.
I'm not really sure I can lab as much as I would want with a pair of 7700s and a line card on each. Just need to get my hands in it to learn.
