LACP - Suspened Ports

Hello Everyone...

I am trying to build out a LACP Etherchannel between a Dell R540 and a Cisco 2960XR. Everytime I build out a Port Channel interface, the ports stay in a suspended state. I cannot get them out of it. I have tried setting the switch as active, then passive. The Dell server is set at Active and has an option for "stand-by" for its LACP configuration.

Here is what I have done:

Int range 25-26

sw mo acc

sw acc vlan 99

no shut

channel-group 30 mode active

int po30

sw mo acc

sw acc vlan 99

no shut

Ports stay suspended!

Hi,

On the 2960x, what is the output of "sh etherchannel summary"?

Also, both the server and switch can be active.  

Are both physical interfaces (25, 26) up and up? How about the po interface?

Etherchannel Summary shows:

Po30(SD), Protocol LACP, Ports 25 & 26 (s)

Physical Interfaces 25 & 26: up, line protocol down (suspended) 

Po30 Down, Line Down

Sometimes, the servers don't like LACP. Can you try the default mode (on) and test again?

under the physical interfaces:

no channel-group 30 

than

channel-group 30 (this is mode "on" by default)

make sure the Dell side is also "on" and than test.

Preivously, we had the servers with channel group mode on...that worked, but we were trying to establish the standard of LACP throughout our network...

We would really like to be able to use LACP to get to a standard.

I completely understand that but the problem is that the servers and Cisco switches sometimes don't play well together specially in a VM environment.
