Hi
I have a question about features on a Cisco swtch C3850-48T-L,
Does this model support only Lan base IOS or is it possible to upgrade with IP Base?
Does Lan Base support routed port (no switchport, ip address on a phisical interface)?
Does Lan Base support HSRP?
Can I use C3850-48T-L for my core switch network?
Thak you for any help

Hi
Yes, you can upgrade from Lan base to IP Base, With Lan base you can use layer 3 ports (no switchport), lan base supports static routing, HSRP is supported with IP base or IP services.
If you are going to use routing protocols you cannot use the C3850-48T-L as core switch, you need to upgrade the license or buy the next 3850 models with ip base or ip services license.

Thank you Julio for your explain
If I understood, the model WS-C3850-48T-L comes with Lan Base, but supports Ip Base or Ip service. So it is possible to upgrade this model.
Lan base doesn't support routed port and HSRP.
Best regards!

Hi,
It was a pleasure:
Lan Base can be upgraded to IP Base
Lan Base supports routed ports (no switchport)
HSRP is supported in IP Base and IP services only.
