LAN Network issue " dispose ip.notgateway"

Hi, Guys,

Strange network issue :

Network infrastructure as below"

1. Router is configured as L3 device for VLANs gateway and inter-VLAN routing

2. Juniper EX4200 ( as L2/L3 configuration) is trunked to the Router, and also is trunked to server switches ( i.e, EX4200 is in between the Router and Server switches).

Problem is found some packet loss (for VLAN1 only, and other VLANs have no such problem) for sever ping as attched; and after the debug checking, the initial finding "dispose ip.notgateway in VLAN1" is attached.

Any hint to find out the root cause, or the OSPF configuration issue ( lacking of the root area )?

Many thanks in advance.

Hello,

area 0 is just required if you have multiple areas. If you just have area 6, that is not a problem. That said, it looks like you are experiencing intermittent PING loss. How is the EX configured, especially the trunk interfaces ?

Hi, Pauwen,

The configuration in Juniper EX4200 is simple as the attached, any hint for this problem troubleshooting ?

Hello,

from where (which IP address) are you pinging ? I don't think the intermittent PING losses are caused by a major misconfiguration, unless of course you are experiencing other networking issues as well. Do you have OSPF configured on the Juniper as well ? Post the full configuration of the EX.

Also, which switch is the root for your Vlans ?

The IP address I was pinging is on VLAN1 in the sub-interface fa0/0.1 of the router (VLAN1 is defined the native vlan ).

Any issue for the routing configuration in Juniper switch ?

My problem about formatting flash is with deleting the image report for the transfer for hosting website of disposeitwell. The unique put up speaks of "disposing" the switch however I am no longer sure what that without a doubt method.
