You need to buy a license , apply the software and then apply the license to the switch
license install ......

if you want to test before you buy you could use an evaluation license for I think 60 or 90 days and then it will revert back to the original license if you don't apply the full license

So do I need purchase IPBase license seperatly? Or just I need to put command to activate permanently?

You need to purchase the license unless it was bought originally with the switch , ipbase is cheaper than ipservices but with less features

But I have already Lanbase switch and need this switch to move IPBase. So If I change IOS by IPBase then it will work or need to IPBase license also? I have IPBase Software backup.

You need the license for it to work , its not free Cisco charge for ipbase and ipservices , lanbase comes free with a switch

Okay. Can you share the part number of IPBase or IPService license?
Thanks.

Thank you very much.

No problem

I got a question regarding that topic...

I wanted to add a new 3650 switch into a ipbase stack but license-mismatch occured. I recognized that the new one had only lanbase activated. Unfornunately I don't have further information of the buyer received yet so I though I could ask you. May it be bought with ipbase but it is simply not activated?

Below is the right-to-use output with index 3 ipbase permanent but not activated and index 4 only eval ipbase for 90 days.

Can I simply activate ipbase and reload the new switch or do I have to buy and upgrade to ipbase?

Thank you!

Hi
Only you could know that if a license was purchased , switch doesnt show you that , you would need the PAK code off the person you purchased it off if a ipbase license was supplied with the switch

what you could do for now is activate it temporarily until; you get the license supported using evaluation license mode , i think you will get 60 or 90 days

EDIT:
use this command then add it to the stack
license right-to-use activate eval  ipbase

Alright, I see. Thank you for all the information
