I have a Cisco ME 3400 Layer 3 switch connecting via fiber link to a B&B SEG510-2SFP-T layer 2 switch with multiple devices in separate subnets and vlans connecting to the layer 2 switch. The diagram below shows the basic layout. I have the following interfaces configured on the Cisco Switch:
Interface IP-Address OK? Method Status Protocol
Vlan1 192.168.1.4 YES manual up up
Vlan51 10.174.241.99 YES manual up up
Vlan71 10.173.241.99 YES manual up up
Vlan151 10.174.247.99 YES manual up up
Vlan171 10.173.247.99 YES manual up up
Vlan251 10.174.245.99 YES manual up up
Vlan271 10.173.245.99 YES manual up up
Vlan351 10.174.246.99 YES manual up up
Vlan371 10.173.246.99 YES manual up up
From the layer 3 switch I'm unable to ping the camera that is connected to the layer 2 switch at 10.173.245.24.
When I attempt to add a route on the Cisco switch such as: ip route 10.173.245.24 255.255.255.0 10.173.241.24 I get the error: %Inconsistent address and mask
I am also unable to ping if I add the route as: ip route 10.173.245.0 255.255.255.0 10.173.241.24 tag 271
Please help point me in the right direction.

Thanks everyone for the help. We got it figured out by calling eworx support and they helped us understand trunking their layer 2 switch.

Hello,
in theory, you don't need any static routes, as all inter Vlan routing is done on the ME3400. Are both links connecting the devices configured as trunks allowing all Vlans ?

Thank you so much for your response. Yes, the switch port 1 is trunked on the Layer 3, however the layer 2 switch is somewhat confusing. I think you are onto the issue, I just have to figure out how to trunk the port on this B+B SEG510-2SFP-T layer 2 switch.

This is what my cisco switch trunked port looks like (I removed the ip routing per your suggestion.)
Switch#sh interfaces trunk
Port Mode Encapsulation Status
Native vlan Gi0/3 on 802.1q trunking 1
Port Vlans allowed on trunk Gi0/3 1-4094
Port Vlans allowed and active in management domain Gi0/3 1,31,51,71,151,171,251,271,351,371
Port Vlans in spanning tree forwarding state and not pruned Gi0/3 1,31,51,71,151,171,251,271,351,371

try to allow all vlans on your trunk interfaces and check native vlan and mgmt vlan on all switches

Thank you for the suggestion. This layer 2 switch is a little difficult understanding. Port 4 is the camera and port 9 is the link to the layer 3 switch (the layer 3 switchport is indeed trunked.)
