Hi all,
I would like to set up link aggregation for my servers on 2960.
Which methods do you advise me?
There are several options:
-LACP
-Active Standby
The idea is to have 2 Cisco 2960, on which I would like to attach 2 NIC of the servers (1 NIC on each 2960)
As well, is it possible to attach the 2 NIC of the server on a 2960 and to aggregate the 2 NICs to have 2Gbit?
How can I configure the switch? Is there any requirements with the servers?

Hi Friend,
I will recommed you to go for LACP. Another thing that your idea to have 2 NIC of the server connected as 1 NIC on each 2960 and in this scenario port channel is not possible.
You can definetely have 2 nics on a server on one 296o switch and can configure etherchannel.

Yes, but ONLY if the Server does Support the Ether-Channel (LACP or PAgP).
If you want to configure the first scenario i.e. 2 links to 2 different switches, then you need to enable the Teaming (HP Calls like that) or NLB (as Microsoft calls it) depending upon whether you want to enable it on the Machine Level or on OS Level.
Hope this helps, please write back if you want more information about the aspect.

Wilson Samuel
