Lose Configs when stacking switches

Hi,

I have 2 cisco 3750 switches not stacked, each with its own config but I would like to stack them.  If I shut them off, put in the cables together and boot up, would I lose the configs of both switches and have to reconfigure the switches?  TIA.

You'll "lose" the config of the 2nd switch that joins the stack.

The 2nd switch will appear as another set of ports that you can configure.

Thanks for that information.

Hi,

Use this guide to build your stack. It is probably a good idea to backup your config as port assignment will change. Also, you may need to modify your config, copy and paste it back to the switch after the stacking is done.
