i have some ME-3600x. some of version 12.2 and one of version 15.5. te last one hast same config as all other. but if i check for rstp it sends

#sh spanning-tree

No spanning tree instance exists.

i know abount global config commands:

spanning-tree mode rapid-pvst

spanning-tree extend system-id

but there is no spanning-tree support. this causes many more problems. so it is important to solve spanning tee at first.

is it possible without downgrading this device?

thanks for help

Hello,

RSTP is the default spanning-tree mode for the Cisco ME. Could you send us your configuration?.

Hi Heiko,

Yes you are true

ME3600 doesn't support "true" RSTP

You get only this options:

3600X-A(config)#spanning-tree mode ?
 mst         Multiple spanning tree mode
 pvst        Per-Vlan spanning tree mode
rapid-pvst  Per-Vlan rapid spanning tree mode

Hello,

what is "true" RSTP. Please read this:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/switches/metro/me3600x_3800x/software/release/12.2_52_ey/configuration/guide/swstp.html#wp1022949

I think that threre are not active port in the VLANs. So spanning-tree process is not active. Please try active a port and then see the

show spanning-tree command".
