I want to upgrade my DRAM of 256MB to 512MB to support 15.1 IOS image.

Can I buy Cisco approved DRAM from third party

Like www.satech.com

Hi,

You can, but there is no guarantee that it is going to work.  Not all vendors memory, flash card, etc... work with Cisco devices.  Just make sure you can return it if it does not work.

There is, as far as I know, no such thing as a "Cisco approved" or "Cisco endorsed" third party component.

Like what Reza stated, you take the risk.  Make third party seller has an explicit returns policy.
