Hello Experts,

We have a small network for our college.

ADSL------> Cisco Router-----Cisco Switch----Wireless Access Points.

I want to monitor internet activity of all staff....basically a report on users using the sites and bandwith.

Thanks.

Samir

Hello Samir,

You can use cisco netflow option (if available in your router IOS). Check the below link.

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/ios/12_0s/feature/guide/nfstatsa.html

Or if budget permits, you can go with a proxy server and deploy in transperant mode.

That totally depends on what actual hardware you have. One possible scenario would be to set up a SPAN session (SwitchPort ANalyzer) which all traffic flows through (monitor the link between the switch and the router) and capture that information using ntop (http://www.ntop.org/products/ntop/)

Hi,

I configured ISA Server in transparent mode and used as a SecureNAT Client. Confgured Clients Gateway pointing to ISA Server.

Thanks for your support.

I would try NTOP on a server. For your ADSL traffic will create really nice statistics.
