Hi,

I recently troublshooted connectivity between moxa industrial switches in turbo chain with head and tail connected to Cisco L3 switch 3560 port gig0/8,9.

On l3 cisco switch customer wanted the default gateway for moxa switches subnet as 10.10.x.250/24

So i created gateway by configuring on cisco
 interface vlan x
Ip address 10.10.x.250 255.255.255.0

Interface range gig 0/8 -9
Decription to moxa ring
Switchport mode trunk
Switchport native vlan x

on moxa switch:  i did not change the default vlan1

i changed redundancy to turbo chain with g2 as head or tail and g1 as member connecting to ring switches.

Disabled lldp on tail switch to avoid recieving flap messages on cisco switches coming from same mac of head and tail

Changed g2 and g3 to trunk

The connectivity is up and all ring mixa switches pingable from cisco

Is there any configuration that i missed ir necessary to do on moxa or cisco?

Is trunk config on cisco and moxa correct?

 Regards

Hi I also have Moxa ring (turboRing V2) and 3750.

Ring connected to cisco by Ring Coupling.

Moxa have one major problem - it work only one redundancy mode per switch and have not any mechanism to say cisco - topology changed.

Cisco IE-2000/3000 have REP ring techology but You can enable STP on edge ports and enable REP->STP topology changed message.

We can fight with moxa together :-)
