1-Make sure you DO NOT reboot the router.  Now that you don't have an image if you reboot the router will go to Rommon

2-Can you ping the TFTP server from the router?

3-Can you ping the router from the TFTP server?

4-Did you turn on TFTP server on your PC/laptop?

Hi Reza,

Thanks for the reply.

I only have cisco channel partner access.

is there any other website i can download that software?

thanks

mahesh

Hi Mahesh,

You need a CCO account with valid smartnet contract to download IOS. The 2600 series is very old and unless you have extended warranty through Cisco, you can't put any IOS on it. I don't know what the channel partner account give you access to.

Hi Reza,

Many thanks for reply.

There was no connectivity between router and TFTP  server which  was on Laptop.

Router was not on my network.

I did the config on the router and after that i was able to upgrade the IOS on the router.

Thanks

mahesh

This means that your router cannot contact the TFTP server.  Most likely caused by firewall or something.

One other show stopper. Since he is x many hops away, the last router to the destination will most likely need an IP helper address to the tftp server.
