See below for the topology. The OTN device is the Multicast source, connected to the 2960 on VLAN 601. The end PC on VLAN 601, opens the stream properly at rtp/h264://@225.0.13.1:2001. However it doesn't open in VLC at all on the 600 vlan. I used wireshark to verify the TTL on the video is 64. I double checked that multicasting is enabled on the 4507 and here are some of the configs:

Also verified IGMP snooping is enabled. Do i need a querier setup? Do i need to have the ip igmp join-group put somewhere? Definitely appreciate the help from everyone.

The nbr part will be blank because the source of the multicast stream is directly connected to the L3 switch.

If the source was connected to another L3 device that then connected to your L3 switch the nbr field on your switch would be the IP of the L3 device connected to the source.

Was able to get out there this morning, stream still not working. Do i need the "ip igmp join-group" on both vlans, or just the 600 as mentioned earlier?

You shouldn't need it on either interface.

Can you post a "sh ip mroute" and a "sh ip igmp memberships" from the switch while both the ONT is sending the stream and the client is trying to view it.

Stream is up and running on the PC on vlan 601 as i type this response. Nothing coming up on the 600 PC though still.

this is your problem ie. the stream has been pruned and there is no outgoing interface where it should be vlan 600.

So for some reason the client doesn't appear to be sending an IGMP join to the switch for that stream.

Are you using VLC to view the stream on the client ?

Okay, sorry to go back to what you have done already but just as a check can you -

1) add "ip igmp join-group 225.0.13.1" to vlan 600

2) post a "sh ip mroute" again

I know you did this before but the last mroute output is showing both entries for that stream which is good except the host specific one is being pruned for some reason.

as soon you added that command it now forwards out of vlan 600 which is what I would expect.

Something is not working with VLC on your client by the looks of it.

It doesn't look like the VLC software is sending an IGMP join to the switch and if the switch doesn't get that it won't know it has to forward the stream onto vlan 600.

I don't think it is a problem with your switch configuration because that seems to be working okay from the above outputs.

So now we are seeing the S,G - i thought i was going mad. Wonder why we didnt see it before. Might be worth seeing a packet capture on the client in vlan 600?

With the join-group we can see it straight away.
