Hi everyone,
i am trying to implement multicasting on some switches for cctv and it seems to not work as it should.
i have a 3650 L3 as core with multiple vlans. all the svis for vlans is on that L3 and then trunked on to sg300 where cameras connect to. i have enabled ip multicast routing on 3650 and typed ip pim sparse-mode under vlan interfaces. cameras are programmed to advertise on multicast address. however when multicasting enabled i can ping the cameras but strugling to web browse into it. it feels that network is getting fludded. is there anything i am missing like any other configurations on sg300 switches which are acting as L2.
Thanks

Have you designated an RP (rendevous point) for your sparse mode environment?

yep created loopback adress and designated rp.
interface Loopback1
description * Multicast - AnycastRP *
ip address 192.168.1.1 255.255.255.25
ip pim rp-address 192.168.1.1
ip pim spt-threshold infinity

I haven't used them much but is IGMP snooping enabled on the SG300s? If it isn't that may be causing the suspected flooding.

would i have to enable IGMP per vlan?

I think you would be OK if you just enabled it globally.
